Today marks the start of the Event and Arena Marketing Conference in Tulsa, Okla. While Amplify is proud to once again serve as a sponsor of the team-building event, we are unfortunately unable to attend this year. We apologize. The all-volunteer organized event is one of the best in the industry, and we hope everyone has a great time with their hosts at the BOK Center.
Today we have a great article on a high school auditorium in Westport that played host to some of the biggest names in rock ‘n’ roll history. The “High School That Rocked” is the tale of how a promise to make prom free brought iconic bands like The Doors, The Animals and Cream to a small Connecticut high school in the late 1960s.
We’ve also got a story about how the death of an alpaca is preventing an EDM festival from returning to a Texas town and how a program for U.S. veterans has led to the distribution of over three million tickets to military families. We’ve also got a small item on the Ticketfly/Eventbrite sale and tour updates for The Weeknd and Van Jones.
