Longtime venue executive Hank Abate is leaving his position at Madison Square Garden, Amplify has learned. Abate, who joined MSG in June 2016 as executive vice president of venue management, wrote “As of the end of today I will be moving on from MSG. I leave behind so many great friends and colleagues. I take pride in the contributions and changes I was a part of over the last two years. My time here has been a great experience and this is a great organization! I will take a little time off and then return to the industry that has been my entire career. I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead. Stay tuned!”
Abate had worked at Spectra between 2013 to 2016 and previously worked at SMG for 20 years. At Madison Square Garden Co, Abate directed operations for MSG’s portfolio of venues — Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall in New York, as well as New York’s Beacon Theatre, the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., and the Chicago Theatre.
