I hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day weekend. Kristen and I enjoyed a wonderful day at the beach with Bandit and our son Wesley, who is officially five months old! When people ask what’s the best thing about being a dad, I say it’s looking at my son and thinking of the great opportunities available to him. He’s so young, but I look into his eyes and think “this little dude has the whole world ahead of him.” What’s better than that, right?
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, including my dad Chuck Brooks and my stepdad Phil Porter and my father-in-law John Bilanko. Over the weekend, we ran a very touching essay from music manager Jeff Castelaz, who lost his son Pablo to cancer eight years ago. Castelaz’s essay is powerful because he takes something deeply tragic and channels that pain into an incredible cause that helps other children facing cancer. It’s a very moving and compelling essay and we were honored to publish it on Father’s Day.
