There is some great new music out today that is making the end of the summer sound pretty fricking awesome. Dave’s favorite rock band, Queens of the Stones Age, just dropped their new nine-song LP Villians and it’s pretty much on non-stop repeat here at Amplify HQ. There’s also a new album from The War on Drugs that is really strong.
And of course, we’ve already listen to the new Taylor Swift song “Look What You Made Me Do” ten times. As I have said, over and over, I am Team Swift FOR LIFE! I like the new song with its angry lyrics and haunting piano over drum machines and EDM special effects (is it just me or does the hook sound a lot like Peaches?)
I like the direction she’s going and if she incorporates this sound throughout her new album Reputation – which drops Nov. 10 – then I think she’s in good shape to have another massive hit on her hands.
And because I swore to RZA last week that I’m always down with the Wu-Tang Clan, I need to send a Shaolin shout out to Redman and crew for their new single “People Say”, which dropped today. Yo kids….this one is a banger.
So yeah – Wu Tang Clan, Queens of the Stone Age, War on Drugs and Queen Tay. That’s how we jam up in here!
