Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire have partnered with Preservation Hall in New Orleans to present the inaugural Krewe Du Kanaval celebration. To be held the week prior to Mardi Gras on the streets of the French Quarter, the mobile music event will be a celebration of Haiti and the diaspora of cultures that have enriched New Orleans. Kanaval will feature parades, parties, and music that is mostly free to the public. Ticket sales, membership, merch, and sponsorship funds will go to non-profits Preservation Hall Foundation and KANPE which both support social and cultural needs in New Orleans and Haiti.
