Green Day has produced a documentary that takes a deeper look into the East Bay punk scene they emerged from. “Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk” is narrated by Iggy Pop and covers over 30 years of Northern California’s contribution to the punk scene. The film recalls the emergence of Berkeley’s inspiring 924 Gilman Street music collective and has accompanied Green Day’s Revolution Radio World Tour since July. “Turn It Around” is directed by Corbett Redford and Rancid co-founder Tim Armstrong serves as director of animation. The doc’s next screening follows Green Day’s Rose Bowl performance and will play Tuesday (Sept. 19) at the Art Theatre in Long Beach, California. Click here for a complete list of screenings.
