While there may be some mixed emotions about Justin Timberlake’s Prince tribute, seeing Prince’s Love Symbol lighting up the U.S. Bank Stadium was a highlight of the performance. During Timberlake’s cover of “I Would Die 4 U,” Minneapolis appeared to be lit purple to remember the hometown hero, but the effect was for television screens only. Production company Fireplay provided the content for Timberlake’s performance including the graphics for the larger than life symbol for the artist once “formerly known as Prince.” Similar to the way fans on TV can see the yellow line painted on the field during a game, the stadium was digitally altered to add the purple tribute. Check out Fireplay’s Facebook for more information on how they pulled it off.
