In response to lawmakers aggressively working to shut down Planned Parenthood, artists have come together for a special box set to benefit the organization that provides basic health services for women including STD testing and treatment, birth control and life-saving cancer screenings. Sleater-Kinney, the Foo Fighters, Mary J Blige and Bon Iver are among the musicians included in the set. It also features comedians Tig Notaro, Zach Galifianakis and Janeane Garofalo. The set will also have a video produced by Kristen Stewart with music from Chvrches, and art from Obey’s Shepard Fairey. Planned Parenthood is well-aware of the name’s insinuation, stating on its Facebook page, “We hope the title evokes the rich history of 7-inch vinyl records as a medium for protest music and resistance.” Purchase details for the set are expected soon.
