Today is National Pina Colada Day and a New York restaurant is celebrating by creating the world’s largest. The cocktail’s six-foot glass is also to commiserate what has been dubbed the “Summer of Hell” by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, citing the Penn Station Amtrak repairs occurring between July 1 and Sept. 10. The restaurant, Selena Rosa, is handing out free drinks to patrons, LIRR commuters and NJ transit and Amtrak riders. The 140 gallons of pina colada will be stirred in a cement mixer and served on the Upper East Side in front of the restaurant.
