Buy-back website Decluttr decided to put a twist on the taste of Coachella and teamed up with synaesthete Joel Terry to find out what some of the headliner’s biggest songs ‘taste’ like. Terry has lexical-gustatory synesthesia which is a rare form of synesthesia where you can taste spoken or written words. Per the taste test, Terry says Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love” tastes of rusted iron and a large fragment of a burst rubber balloon while Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” has a combined taste/texture of an electrical current and lemon custard. SZA’s “The Weekend” tastes of a peppermint flavored tooth pick and a rubber band, while Jamiroquai’s “Virtual Insanity” recalls lettuce and basin cleansing powder for Terry.
