One of the sport’s most unusual and iconic fighters was discovered by boxing legend Cus D’Amato (the guy in the tie) and groomed into the youngest heavyweight champion in history. This tutorial from Bloody Elbow explains D’Amato’s peek-a-boo style of boxing, with gloves close to the cheeks and arms tight against the torso. It’s a style that was used with devastating effect by Tyson, whose natural power and explosiveness had a lot to do with his punishing knockouts.
