In the Wake of Attack During Headlining Set, Aldean Cancels Out of Respect for Victims
Jason Aldean is canceling his three upcoming shows in Southern California: Oct. 6 at the Forum in Los Angeles, Oct. 7 at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista and Oct. 8 at Honda Center in Anaheim. The move follows a deadly attack during his headline performance at Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday, when a gunman opened fire on the crowd of concertgoers below him.
“I feel like out of respect for the victims, their families and our fans, it is the right thing to do,” he wrote on Twitter.
Aldean will resume his tour Oct. 12 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, telling fans “our first time back onstage will be a very tough and emotional thing for us, but we will all get through it together and honor the people we lost by doing the only thing we know how to do — play our songs for them.”
