In partnership with CID Presents, Dead and Company have announced Playing in the Sand, an all-inclusive Caribbean concert vacation. From Feb. 15-18, the band will spend three nights playing on an intimate, white sandy beach in Mexico, just feet away from the Caribbean Sea.
Playing in the Sand will also offer guests an assortment of curated amenities such as all-inclusive food and drink, premium hotel accommodations, shuttle service to and from Cancun International Airport, an official Dead & Company Riviera Maya gift bag, and 24-hour concierge service. Fans can also partake in on-site activities such as yoga, tequila tasting, bowling and surfing, as well as a plethora of off-site adventures that allow guests to explore Mexico’s amazing natural treasures and sacred ancient history.
Guests can choose to stay at the host resort The Barceló Maya, or four other hand-picked places including The Hard Rock Hotel, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Dreams Tulum and Rosewood Mayakoba. Each of the hotels offer guests a tailored and unique experience, but The Barceló Maya will be the epicenter of the vacation with three main stage concerts.
The Playing in the Sand announcement comes on the heels of the Dead and Company’s successful summer tour that concluded with two nights at Wrigley Stadium in Chicago. The band’s current lineup includes original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann andMickey Hart alongside singer/guitarist John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. The group continues to play the iconic music of the Grateful Dead.
Dead and Company fans can sign up for presale access via a special link on the band’s and individual band members’ email and social media channels. This presale will begin Tuesday (Aug. 1) at 1pm ET.
