Indie rock favorites The Decemberists have announced the dates and lineup for their Travelers’ Rest festival. Big Sky Brewing Company Amphitheater in Missoula, Montana will host the second annual Travelers’ Rest music festival on Aug. 4-5. The 2018 lineup, curated by The Decemberists, will feature Death Cab For Cutie, Jeff Tweedy, and Mavis Staples. The Decemberists will headline both nights of the two-day event.
Other artists announced for the summer festival include Tune-Yards, Whitney, Parquet Courts, Tinariwen, I’m With Her, Waxahatchee, and Lucy Dacus. Additional artists are expected to be announced in the spring. Produced by Knitting Factory Presents, over 15 artists will perform on two stages throughout the weekend.
“We really had a blast last year. It was fantastic to play a part in bringing those great bands to the Big Sky State — many of whom were playing there for the first time! Hopefully we’ll instill a little more MT-love again with this lineup. Bands should know that Montana is a lovely place to tour, if sometimes a little hard to get to,” said Decemberists’ frontman Colin Meloy, who was born and raised in Helena, Montana and attended University of Montana in Missoula.
The Decemberists are currently celebrating the release of their eighth studio album I’ll Be Your Girl, out on March 16. Travelers’ Rest Festival is part of The Decemberists’ Your Girl / Your Ghost 2018 World Tour which kicks off on March 22 in Pomona, California.
Weekend passes are on sale now at bigskybrewconcerts.com for $95.50. A VIP weekend pass option is also available for $179.50 (with upgraded amenities, premium viewing area, a festival poster signed by the band and more). Tickets are available in person at the Big Sky Brewing Company and Rockin’ Rudy’s. More information at TravelersRestFest.com.
