Katy Perry is making a huge return after the release of Prism four whole years ago. Today, the pop star announced a new album, along with its cover and release date, and a supporting tour beginning in September.
Perry dropped the announcements this morning via Twitter with an accompanying video.

The new album, “Witness,” will be released on June 9 and contains already heard singles “Chained to the Rhythm” and “Bon Appétit.” Perry also plans to release the title track later today.
With over 40 dates already listed throughout the United States and Canada, Witness: The Tour will begin on September 7 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. Perry will then play the Bell Centre on Sept. 9 and Air Canada Centre on Sept. 12 in Montreal and Toronto, respectively. The tour will hit all the major markets like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Chicago with Perry playing four in the New York market including Madison Square Garden, Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Prudential Center, and Barclays Center. The tour is scheduled to conclude on Feb. 5 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
For Witness: The Tour, Perry will be utilizing Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program to try to eliminate ticket resale. Fans who want to get tickets through the Verified Fan program can sign up for the pre-sale now through May 16 at 10 p.m. The actual pre-sale will take place on May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon. For Canadian fans, pre-sale will be May 23, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time.
