Dead & Company, the ensemble of Grateful Dead members and other top musicians will kick off a fall tour Nov. 12 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
The announcement from former Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann comes on the heels of a successful summer tour. The trio is being joined by Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, singer-guitarist John Mayer and FareTheeWell/RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. They will play a second show at MSG Nov. 14 before crisscrossing the East Coast, Midwest, South and southwest portions of the country.
Dead & Company was formed in 2015. The group draws from Dead songs and is “taking the iconic music catalogue to new heights,” a statement from the band’s representatives said.
Tickets go on sale at 10 am. Sept. 16, however, registration through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program began today at noon eastern. Go here to register as supplies are limited.
Fans also can buy pre-sale tickets beginning at 10 a.m.. Sept. 12. American Express cardholders can buy tickets before the general public Sept. 12-15 in all markets except Orlando and Sunrise, Florida. In those markets, card members can get their tickets between Sept. 19 and Sept. 22.
