Joe Reinartz has resigned from his position at Pollstar where he has worked since 1997 as a reporter, editor and most recently News Editor, overseeing editorial operations at the industry music magazine based in Fresno, California.
Reinartz’s last day was Thursday and Amplify has learned the abrupt exit came as a surprise to some at the publication. Amplify reached out to Reinartz for comment but did not receive a response.
Earlier this year, Pollstar was purchased by Tim Leiweke and Irving Azoff’s Oak View Group following the sale of Venues Today to Oak View Group in late December. Leiweke hired Billboard’s Ray Waddell to head up editorial operations at the newly created company. In September OVG announced the hiring of Billboard’s Andy Gensler as executive editor of OVG’s Media & Conferences Division.
It’s unclear if Waddell and Gensler played a role in Reinartz’s exit.
