Look at this guy. (Full disclosure, this is his Facebook profile pic, not some image we scammed.) Larry Wilson is leaving his longtime post at SMG, where he has worked since 1994 to take a new, yet to be announced gig.
“Today is very surreal but gratifying for me,” he wrote on Facebook. “Today is my last day with SMG after 23 years and a 2.5 month transition! It has been an unreal ride and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Thanks to Amy Frank, my boys, my parents, my friends and my teams for all their support! I look forward to letting everyone know about my next chapter. As Bob Seger says ‘turn the page!’ Cheers!”
Wilson started at the Palm Springs Convention Center and has worked at Century Tel Center in Bossier City, Louisiana; Richmond Coliseum; John Paul Jones at UVA in Charlottesville; SMG’s seven venues in Jacksonville, Florida and his last gig serving as an SMG regional VP in New Orleans.
Where’s he headed next? He’s not saying, but we’re hoping it involves a cold beer, white sand and a Kenny Chesney playlist. Rock on brother!
