LGBT Club where 49 died will eventually become a memorial
More than a year after a gunman killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the club’s owner is in search of a new location in Orlando. According to Billboard, owner Barbara Poma has been looking in central or urban Orlando after initially discussing re-opening on the site of the massacre, an idea a spokesperson said was quickly abandoned.
Instead a memorial will be built on the site. An upcoming town-hall meeting on Sept. 13 will include a discussion of plans for the memorial, while the foundation will post an online public survey that day asking for input about the future of the Pulse site.
