SMG Europe announced yesterday that it would be returning to Ticketmaster. At the end of their contract with Eventim, SMG Europe will again use Ticketmaster as their official ticketing partner. The partnership is expected to begin by the summer of 2018.

In a joint statement from the two companies, SMG Europe, the largest operator of sports and entertainment venues in the UK and Europe, said it requires the best in ticketing services which they believe Ticketmaster offers. The anticipated partnership follows the collaborative success achieved on the Bristol Arena venture, as well as other projects across Europe.

As part of the partnership, SMG Europe will also appoint Ticketmaster’s resale platform as the official resale marketplace, ensuring fans are able to buy and sell unwanted tickets safely and securely.

In the statement John Sharkey, Executive Vice President of European Operations for SMG Europe said, “I am delighted that the successes in project collaboration will be widened into an enlarged relationship with Ticketmaster as a strategic ticketing partner in due course.”

The SMG European head office is also conveniently located in the Manchester Arena which is nearby the Ticketmaster contact center team in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

“SMG Europe and Ticketmaster share the same ambitions: understand our audience; provide a premium service to promoters; sell tickets fast, and ultimately get more tickets into the hands of fans,” said Andrew Parsons, Managing Director of Ticketmaster UK in the release. “As such, we are thrilled to announce what will no doubt be a fruitful and enjoyable partnership. Our experienced team look forward to providing Ticketmaster’s best-in-class services to SMG venues across the UK yet again.”
