Spotify has partnered with both AXS and Eventbrite to integrate ticketing purchases and event recommendations within its platform.
With the global agreement, Spotify’s 100 million users worldwide will now be offered the ability to acquire tickets to shows ticketed by AXS and Eventbrite without leaving the mobile or desktop app. By leveraging Spotify’s music and concert discovery algorithm, the partnership will help music event producers connect with the fans most likely to attend their shows.
“This integration enables a direct connection between the 100 million Spotify users and seeing their favorite bands live,” AXS’s SVP of Music Dean DeWulf said in a statement. “Fans, artists, promoters and our venue clients all benefit from this aligned technology — it’s a natural fit that extends the reach of the AXS platform into the Spotify ecosystem.”
The integration now gives Spotify users quick access to tickets from iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The O2 Arena in London, and the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm from AXS, as well as Great American Music Hall and Mohawk in Austin from Eventbrite. Users will also be able to purchase tickets for festivals working with AXS and Eventbrite.
Spotify will find concert recommendations on the artist pages under the concert tabs on desktop and artist pages on mobile under “On Tour.” The “Concerts” tab will also provide suggestions for relevant artists, making it easy for users to discover new music in their city. Users will also receive bi-weekly concert recommendation emails from Spotify.
According to Eventbrite, acquiring tickets will take no more than two taps and will not require users to enter a login or deal with captchas. Eventbrite research has found that 42 percent of people discover new artists and bands through streaming services like Spotify, and half of these fans go on to purchase tickets to see those artists live. AXS and Eventbrite believe the seamless integration will result in more fans attending shows with the artists they love.
The partnerships with AXS and Eventbrite follow recent Spotify ticketing partnership with Ticketmaster and long-standing integration with Songkick.
In addition to Spotify, Eventbrite currently has distribution partnerships with Facebook, Bandsintown, Discotech and Songkick.
