Ticketfly released a new IOS app on Wednesday to help connect fans with live events and new artists. This is the first product release by the ticketing company following its rebranding campaign.
The app looks simple to use and is definitely easy on the eyes. Fans not only have access to artist profiles, song clips and videos on over 90,000 event listings (all powered by Ticketfly, of course), but can also get recommendations for shows handpicked by expert curators at Ticketfly and push notifications for onsale times.
The app also provides a quick and intentional purchasing experience. It has a short path-to-purchase, taking as little as two taps to buy tickets. The app’s click and hold purchase confirmation feature also ensures fans they are making deliberate purchases. Fans also have the option to either store their tickets digitally on the app or to export the tickets to Apple Pay after purchase.
Since Ticketfly was acquired by Pandora late last year, many have speculated how the joined force of indie ticketing plus music radio could change ticketing. Could the app be one more step towards this?
“[The app is] foundational to the work we’re doing with Pandora,” said PR Manager Chris Pappas on the Ticketfly blog. “The underlying technology powering our app will help us build the world’s most powerful music platform.”
