JIM SALAMENTA LEAVES H-E-B CENTER FOR NEW JOB

Jim Salamenta, a long-time arena GM who managed the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas is leaving the facility management space to work at Periscope Music Group. In 2016, Salamenta was appointed to run the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas near Austin. He’ll be replaced by Larry Silver, who will be take over as Interim GM until SMG finds a new GM for the facility.


SINGER ELLE KING SIGNS WITH RED LIGHT MANAGEMENT

Red Light Management has landed singer and songwriter Elle King. Variety is reporting that King will be working with Mary Hilliard Harrington who also represents Dierks Bentley. King was previously represented by Career Artist Management (CAM). King is still currently signed to RCA and booked by Paradigm. The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer released her debut album in 2015 and is expected to release a follow up later this year.


JANET JACKSON TO BE HONORED AT BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

Janet Jackson is set to receive the Icon Award at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. In addition to receiving the award for her decades of musical work, Jackson will also perform at the awards show. Her highly-anticipated performance will be first on-air show in nine years. Other artists who have been given the Icon Award include Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, and Cher. The show will broadcast live on May 20 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
