INTRUST BANK ARENA PROMOTES & HIRES IN SALES & MARKETING
SMG has announced the promotion of Amanda Shankle (pictured) from Marketing & Group Sales Coordinator to Marketing Manager in March. In her new role, Shankle will work directly with show promoters to develop and implement integrated marketing plans for all INTRUST Bank Arena events, manage email marketing communications for the Arena’s email database and supervise the Marketing & Group Sales Coordinator. SMG has also hired Lyndsey Edwards as the Marketing & Group Sales Coordinator and began with SMG on April 23. Edwards’ responsibilities will include leading the group sales efforts for all arena events, developing and delivering social media and email marketing campaigns for Select-A-Seat and managing the marketing internship program.
RAPPER AND ACTOR T.I. SIGNS WITH APA
Rapper and actor Clifford “T.I.” Harris has signed with APA in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard have exclusively learned. He previously was with CAA. T.I. has four No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and is an accomplished actor who is set to appear in this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp from Marvel Studios. In addition, he is a newly minted Tony nominee in the best original score category for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical, sharing the nomination alongside Flaming Lips, John Legend, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Panic! at the Disco, They Might Be Giants and more. He also is set to star on his newly announced business competition series The Grand Hustle, which will air this summer on BET.
LA REC AND PARKS BOARD APPROVE SMG RENEWAL FOR GREEK
SMG has won a key victory in its fight for the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. On Wednesday, the LA Rec and Parks board voted to approve a potential ten-year renewal for SMG to continue to manage the 5,700-seat amphitheater as an open venue, beating out an insurgent bid from Oak View Group and Tim Leiweke. The renewal is now headed to the LA City Council for final approval.
