POLLSTARPRO ANNOUNCES ITS FINAL DAYS
The team at Pollstar is saying goodbye to the PollstarPro website. In a hilarious piece called PollstarPro’s Final Countdown, staffer Jay Smith explains that “April 30 will be the day we unplug PollstarPro.com and send it to that farm upstate where all old websites eventually go; a place where it can spend its remaining days reminiscing about the good times.” Pollstar is planning to transition all of its content to Pollstar.com including industry news, future shows and 30 years worth of data. “We’re not just saying goodbye to PollstarPro,” Smith writes, “We’re saying Hello to our years-in-the-making Pollstar.com, where you’ll find everything that once resided at the old URL.” God speed.
NO LIVE STREAM FOR BEYONCE’S 2ND WEEKEND PERFORMANCE
Beyonce is returning to Coachella Saturday to deliver another stunning performance, but the event will not be live streamed. Coachella does not stream the second weekend of performances so Beyonce’s historic set as the first black woman to headline the festival was once in a lifetime event for home viewers. Last weekend’s Coachella performances hit 41.3 million views from 232 different countries, a record for the nearly 20 year-old festival. Fans can still check out clips from select artists on Coachella’s YouTube page.
PATRIOTS TEAM UP WITH TICKETMASTER FOR SECONDARY MARKET
NFL’s New England Patriots have teamed up with Ticketmaster to launch a secondary ticket exchange. For the 2018 season, fans will be able to buy and sell tickets through Patriots.com. With this launch, the Patriots are moving more fans to digital tickets where fans can purchase tickets and download them onto mobile devices, eliminating printed tickets. “Ticketmaster’s technology enables us to offer more tickets than ever before to our fans and we’re excited to roll out this new platform when the 2018 schedule is announced,” Patriots Chief Marketing Officer Jen Ferron said in a statement.
