YUENGLING WINS NAMING RIGHTS FOR USF SUN DOME
Yuengling, the oldest brewing company in the U.S., has won the naming rights to the University of South Florida’s Sun Dome. Yuengling operates a major brewery in Tampa and will own the naming rights to the facility for at least the next 10 years. As of July 1, the dome will be known as Yuengling Center. The basketball arena was opened in 1980 and is one of the few college arenas that sells alcohol, one of those offerings already being Yuengling beer.
FLEETWOOD MAC JOINS THE IHEARTRADIO FESTIVAL LINEUP
Fleetwood Mac has announced their inclusion on the iHeartRadio Music Festival lineup. The band will play the main stage without Lindsey Buckingham and for the first time with new members Crowded House’s Neil Finn and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell. This year’s festival will take place from Sept. 21-22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and feature already announced performers Justin Timberlake, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, and Sam Smith.
EVENTBRITE’S KEVIN HARTZ EXITS FOUNDERS FUND
Eventbrite co-founder Kevin Hartz has stepped down from his position as a partner at venture capital firm Founders Fund. Hartz had been with Founders Fund since 2016 and became entrepreneur in residence and venture partner in February. Hartz is said to have left to pursue other ventures, according to Fortune. He will continue to serve as an advisor to Eventbrite which is run by its co-founder and Kevin’s wife, Julia Hartz. Julia has served as CEO of Eventbrite since 2016.
