A British woman tells IQ she has helped people overcharged for concert tickets get back over £100,000 in refunds (about $130,000 USD) and bank chargebacks. Claire Turnham, who founded the Victim of Viagogo Facebook group started the campaign against the ticket reseller after she was overcharged nearly $1,500 trying for four Ed Sheeran tickets. According to IQ, Fanfair Alliance, a music industry crusade against ticket touts, has published her advice for fans on how to get refunds from resale sites such as Viagogo, Seatwave, Getmein and Stubhub.
KNICKS GREAT CHARLES OAKLEY BANNED FROM MSG FOR A YEAR
New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley has taken a plea deal stemming from an altercation at Madison Square Garden that forbids him from entering the venue for one year. As a result, according to Complex.com, assault, trespassing and harassment charges against the enforcer were dropped. The case revolves around a dustup between the former Knicks forward, team owner James Dolan and MSG security. Dolan originally banned Oakley for life before Michael Jordan and NBA commissioner Adam Silver stepped in.

Lorde, Perry Farrell, Tom Waits, Hardwell, Nicky Jam, Bastille, Ziggy Marley and Martie Maguire of the Dixie Chicks are among the judges at this year’s International Songwriting Competition. They will join music industry execs to choose the best entries from songwriters from more than 130 countries. “One of the biggest challenges facing artists is getting their music heard by the decision-makers in the music industry,” Candace Avery, Founder and Director of ISC said in a statement. “Typically music executives receive so much new music each week that it is impossible for them to listen to even a fraction, or any, of what they get.” ISC gives away more than $150,000 in cash and prizes shared among the 71 winners, including an $25,000 grand prize.
