IRVING AZOFF AND RADIO ‘CARTEL’ REACH TEMPORARY CEASE FIRE

Irving Azoff’s Global Music Rights has agreed to a temporary settlement with a group representing 10,000 radio stations. The legal cease-fire allows members of the Radio Music License Committee to continue playing compositions of the artists represented by Azoff’s group through Sept. 30, 2017.  In exchange, the RMLC has agreed to drop an injunction request against Global Music Rights. BUDDY LEE’S KAREN VOGEL PASSES AWAY

Longtime Buddy Lee Attraction General Manager and “office mother” Karen Vogul has passed away. Donna Lee, CEO of Buddy Lee Attractions, made the announcement via Facebook. “It is with heavy hearts we inform our industry friends and family of the passing of our General Manager, friend and office mother, Karen Vogel,” the statement read. “Karen has been an integral part of this family for 26 years. BLA was as much her home as it is mine. We will miss her terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Vogel family.”


ROCK ON THE RANGE SELLS OUT IN RECORD TIME

The 11th annual Rock on the Range sold out in a record amount of time for its 2017 festival. Tickets for the May 19-21 event were gone in a little over a month, making it the fifth consecutive year the festival has sold out before the show. This year’s festival held at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio will feature headlining performances from rock giants Metallica, Soundgarden, and Korn with additional sets by The Offspring, Papa Roach, and Primus.
