BILLY TALENT TO RECEIVE LEGENDS OF LIVE AWARD AT CMW
Canadian Music Week is honoring multi-platinum rock band Billy Talent with the Legends of Live Special Achievement Award at this year’s conference. Billy Talent members Ben Kowalewicz, Ian D’Sa, Jonathan Gallant, Aaron Solowoniuk and Jordan Hastings, will be presented with the award at the third annual Live Music Industry Awards at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel on May 11. Since the release of their self-titled debut in 2003, Billy Talent have sold nearly one million albums in Canada alone, and nearly three million albums internationally. “As we celebrate our 25th anniversary as a band this year, we are incredibly honored to be the recipients of the 2018 Legends of the Live Special Achievement Award. We’ve always prided ourselves on our live shows and to be acknowledged for it is something we don’t take lightly,” the band said in a statement. This year’s Canadian Music Week will run from May 7-13 in Toronto, Ontario.
IHEART RADIO COULD BE HEADED FOR BANKRUPTCY THIS WEEKEND
Bloomberg News is reporting that iHeart Radio has bankruptcy documents circulating around the largest U.S. radio broadcaster which could be filed as early as this weekend. After a year of discussions on how to restructure the company, a formal support agreement still isn’t in place. Since iHeart missed an interest payment with a 30-day grace period on Feb. 1, pressure has been mounting. The company also missed payments on two sets of bonds and is currently $20 billion in debt. Liberty Media, owner of SiriusXM, offered to inject new cash into iHeart, but Bloomberg reports it wasn’t high enough for the company’s creditors.

Attorneys Tiffany Almy, Matt Cuttler, Kevin Eskowitz and Kwame Kandekore will complete the current team.
