DRAKE HITS OVER 10 BILLION SPOTIFY STREAMS
Drake is Spotify’s first artist to reach over 10 billion streams on the platform. With a pay rate estimated at $0.005 per stream, Drake and his music partners have generated at least $50 million to date. On Saturday, Drake released his album/mixtape “More Life” with collaborations with Kanye West, Young Thug, Travis Scott and Jorja Smith. A Spotify spokesperson told Music Business Worldwide, “Drake continues to break Spotify records, including his own, and is now the number one streamed artist and the first to reach over 10 billion streams.”
RODEOHOUSTON HITS ALL-TIME ATTENDANCE RECORD
Yesterday, RodeoHouston broke the all-time paid attendance record for the rodeo/concert day. With 75,557 fans at Go Tejano Day featuring Banda El Recodo and Siggno in concert, the rodeo beat the previous record attendance record by roughly 50 people. Last year’s Go Tejano Day was the previous record-holder, which means the rodeo has continued to increase record turnout for three years in a row.
ENRIQUE IGLESIAS AND PITBULL ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINING TOUR
Live Nation announced today that Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull will co-headline a summer tour. Latin music’s newest phenomenon, CNCO, will support the tour, which begins June 3 at Chicago’s Allstate Arena. The longtime friends will hit 16 cities across North America, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Toronto, and their hometown Miami. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 24.
