GOLDENVOICE ANNOUNCES NEW PASADENA FEST ARROYO SECO
Goldenvoice has announced a new festival taking place in Pasadena, Calif. The first-ever Arroyo Seco Weekend is happening June 24-25 at the Brookside Golf Club near the Rose Bowl. Headliners for the two-day festival include Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Alabama Shakes, Weezer, the Meters and the Shins. In addition to the musical lineup, Goldenvoice has also announced high-end LA food choices and a partnership with Pasadena’s Kidspace Children’s Museum to program activities for kids.
MICHAEL COPPEL NAMED CHAIRMAN OF LIVE NATION AUSTRALIA
Live Nation has announced Michael Coppel as chairman of Live Nation Australia five years after the company acquired Michael Coppel Presents. Coppel, the founding president and CEO of Live Nation Australia, will continue to tap his industry relationships, mentor the team and pursue opportunities to grow the company, according to Live Nation. The company’s Roger Field will also move from COO to CEO of Live Nation Australia.
COACHELLA & GOLDENVOICE SUE URBAN OUTFITTERS
Coachella and its promoter Goldenvoice are suing Urban Outfitters and its subsidiary Free People for trademark infringement. The lawsuit claims Urban sold clothing marketed under the Coachella name without organizers’ permission. The suit, Coachella Music Festival, LLC et al v. Urban Outfitters, Inc. et al, also accuses the clothing chain of purchasing an online keyword to drive shoppers searching for “Coachella” to the Free People website.
