ICE CUBE HIRES AMY TRASK AS BIG3 CEO
Rapper Ice Cube has hired former Oakland Raiders CEO and current CBS Sports Network Analyst Amy Trask as chief executive officer of BIG3, his 3-on-3 basketball league. This year, the league, which features former NBA players like Allen Iverson and Chauncey Billups, will air on Fox Sports 1 as one of the network’s programming highlights. Trask has a wealth of experience in the sports industry, in both the business and media sides. She will continue to work with CBS Sports in her current position.
AFI TO TOUR WITH CIRCA SURVIVE
Beginning July 18, AFI will begin a tour co-headlining with Circa Survive. The bands will play 11 shows together, starting at the Tabernacle in Atlanta and concluding Aug. 5 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre. The tour dates are the second leg of AFI’s The Blood Tour, which is taking them to the United Kingdom to play with the Deftones before they return to the U.S. in June. It follows the release of AFI’s tenth studio album, “The Blood Album” which hit stores in January.
HARRY STYLES SOLO DEBUT SCHEDULED FOR MAY 12
The wait is over. One Direction show-stealer Harry Styles has finally announced the details of his long-awaited solo album. The self-titled debut will be released May 12 on all formats, including a special CD and a 32-page hardcover book with photos from recording sessions. The album features the single, “Sign of the Times” which Styles performed Saturday on SNL along with another new song, “Ever Since New York.” Fans can preorder the album on Styles’ website.
