IRVINE TO VOTE WEDNESDAY ON TEMP AMPHITHEATER
Tomorrow the Irvine City Council will vote on whether or not to build a temporary 12,000-seat amphitheater near Great Park. The proposed amphitheater would replace the 16,000-seat Irvine Meadows which closed in October after 35 years in the community. In September, the developer FivePoint proposed Live Nation would design, build, and operate the new venue for three years while the city figures out what to do with the 44-acre space.
HALL AND OATES ANNOUNCE HOAGIENATION FESTIVAL
Daryl Hall, John Oates, and Live Nation Philadelphia have announced HoagieNation Festival which will celebrate all things Philly. The one-day festival will occur on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 27 and feature performances by G. Love & Special Sauce, Vivian Green, and Allen Stone. The event will take place at the festival pier at Penn’s Landing and include the eclectic culture and cuisine of Philadelphia with numerous Philly-based food favorites. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon local time.
SUBLIME AND OFFSPRING HITTING THE ROAD TOGETHER
Southern California bands Sublime with Rome and Offspring have announced a joint tour. The tour begins on July 8 at North Quest Resort and Casino in Airway Heights, Wash. Then the bands will connect in Canada for seven dates in July and before reconnecting on Sept. 8 for their American stops beginning with Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am local time.
