COMMON TO PLAY FREE SHOW TO SUPPORT CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
In an attempt to bring attention to criminal justice reform in California, rapper Common will perform at a free show next month in Sacramento. Common will perform on Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. on Capitol Mall to help push for the passage of three bills in the California Legislature that would give more rights to juvenile offenders and revamp the state’s bail system. The three-day “Imagine Justice” event will launch with Common’s performance and include a second concert for inmates inside a nearby prison.
PROMOTERS CANCEL 10K ED SHEERAN TICKETS
British singer Ed Sheeran has sold over a million tickets for next’s year’s UK stadium dates, but 10,000 of those tickets have been cancelled. According to promoters Kilimanjaro Live, DHP Family and AEG Presents, 90% of tickets made their way into the hands of fans instead of on secondary sites like ViaGogo. The promoters promised that any tickets found on a secondary site other than official reseller, Twickets, would be instantly invalidated. Promoters have been “monitoring the sales transactions in close conjunction with the National Trading Standards cyber crime team” and have found purchases “in contravention of the terms and conditions for the sale of the Ed Sheeran tickets,” resulting in over 10K cancelled tickets.
