SMG Agrees to Sponsor TEAMS Conference for Additional 10 Years
SMG has renewed its sponsorship of TEAMS Conference and Expo, a gathering of sports event organizers. SMG has sponsored TEAMS since 2004 and the new agreement will run through TEAMS ’25. “This extension of our support of TEAMS is emblematic of our ongoing, long-term commitment to working with the sports events industry, a segment we serve more than any other venue network in the world,” said executive VP of SMG’s Convention Center Division Gregg Caren in a press release.
Steve Aoki Fan Sues Hard Rock Over DJ’s Stage Dive
Brittany Hickerman, an attendee at a Steve Aoki concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego asked a jury on Tuesday to hold the venue liable fro her ongoing pain and future costs of care. Hickerman’s neck was broken at the Hard Rock when Aoki jumped into the crowd. An attorney for Hickerman explains that the venue should have known Aoki would stage dive since he has done it before.
Insomniac Donates $120,000 to Three Las Vegas Charities
Insomniac Cares, a charitable giving initiative from Insomniac Presents, will be donating $120,000 to three Las Vegas charities following EDC Las Vegas 2016. The recipients include Emergency Medicine Resident Research Fund, Injured Police Officers and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation who will receive $40,000 each. The funds were generated from Insomniac’s $1 per ticket and $10 per guest list attendee allocation.
