STEVIE WONDER TO ACCEPT KEY OF LIFE AWARD AT ASCAP EXPO
ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers have announced Stevie Wonder as their 2017 recipient of the Key of Life award. Wonder will be presented with the award at the ASCAP’s “I Create Music” Expo happening from April 13-15 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, where he will also participate in the I Create Music keynote session. The award will celebrate Wonder’s contributions to the world through music.
TRUDEAU INVITES IVANKA TO IMMIGRANT-FRIENDLY BROADWAY PRODUCTION
On Wednesday, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau brought Ivanka Trump to a Broadway production of new musical “Come From Away,” which celebrates generosity to foreigners in need. Trudeau, whose stance on immigration starkly differs from Ivanka’s father’s, addressed the crowd prior to the show saying, “The world gets to see what it is to lean on each other and be there for each other through the darkest times.”
DRAKE’S NEW PROJECT WILL NOT BE AN APPLE EXCLUSIVE
Drake’s newest “playlist” project will not be an Apple exclusive, unlike many of his previous works. Drake previously released his studio album Views and his short film Please Forgive Me exclusively with Apple, but Amazon and Spotify are preparing to stream his latest project beginning the same day as Apple. Drake’s newest release More Life is expected tomorrow, March 18.
