U.S. BANK STADIUM FIRES SECURITY FIRM
On Monday, U.S. Bank Stadium SMG terminated a three-year agreement with Monterrey Security. The Chicago-based security firm had been with the Minneapolis venue since its opening in 2016, but an investigation revealed that it had not properly conducted background checks on hires and had failed to administer appropriate training. Monterrey Security has been under investigation by the State of Minnesota Board of Private Detective and Protective Agent Services since May. The firm also provide security for Wrigley Field and Soldier Field in Chicago. Whelan Event Services and G4S have replaced Monterrey Security at U.S. Bank Stadium.
REBECA LEON EXITS AEG TO START MANAGEMNT CO
Senior Vice President of Latin Talent AT AEG/Goldenvoice Rebeca Leon is leaving her position after 11 years. The concert promoter is exiting to focus on her management company, Lionfish Entertainment. Leon’s efforts will focus on artist management, with clients Juanes and J. Balvin already on board as well non-music content projects. She had been responsible for establishing LA Live as a premiere destination for Latin artists and plans to continue collaborating with AEG Presents.
SONGKICK FILES NEW REQUEST FOR SANCTIONS IN TICKETMASTER CASE
Songkick is asking a judge to level sanctions against attorney’s representing Ticketmaster after one of them allegedly handed over 4,000 pages of new evidence during the discovery phase of a lawsuit the two companies are involved in. Songkick’s attorneys accuse Ticketmaster of withholding evidence and are asking to re-depose Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino and Ticketmaster’s Jared Smith. TM attorneys say the mistake was because of a research error and say they have cooperated with all discovery requests. The two-year-old lawsuit is set to go to trial in November.
