WARRIORS TO BREAK GROUND ON CHASE CENTER
The Golden State Warriors are set to break ground on their new state-of-the-art arena on Jan. 17. The Warriors will host a ceremony at the site in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco with appearances from Warriors Owner & CEO Joe Lacob, Co-Owner Peter Guber, Head Coach Steve Kerr and Forward Kevin Durant along with San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee. The Chase Center is scheduled to open for the start of the 2019-20 NBA season.
BOMAN NAMED IOWA STATE CENTER MARKETING DIRECTOR
The Iowa State Center, managed by VenuWorks, has announced that Holly Boman has been named their Marketing Director. Boman has been part of the marketing team since 2014 and brings over 15 years of experience to her new role. In her new position she will oversee marketing operations, while guiding the definition and demonstration of VenuWorks’ vision for the Center.
SESAC ACQUIRED BY INVESTMENT GROUP BLACKSTONE
Investment giant Blackstone Group has acquired US-based collection and licensing society SESAC. Blackstone has entered an agreement with Rizvi Traverse Management to acquire SESAC holdings. SESAC has 30,000 clients including Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Charli XCX, and Mariah Carey and touts itself as the only US-based music organizations that administers public performance, mechanical, synchronization and other rights all under one company. The transaction is planned to close by the end 2017’s first quarter.
